Entangled in a toxic, violent relationship with a rich and excellent scientist, Cecilia Kass (Moss) runs away from her husband at night to hide in the house of her sister (Harriert Dyer) and their mutual friend (Aldis Hodge). When her husband (Oliver Jakcson-Cohen) commits suicide, leaving her a fortune, Cecilia begins to fear that his death is a fraud.
Meanwhile, the series of inexplicable cases that happen around a woman begins to be deadly dangerous, threatening the lives of those she loves. But how to prove something that can't be proven? On the verge of insanity, Cecilia feels that she is being persecuted by an invisible man.
