"A timeless portrait of a war-torn life and migration, embedded in the context of the ongoing refugee crisis in Europe."
Variety
The new drama of the award-winning Chadian director Mahamat-Saleh Haroun, laureate of the Jury Prize in Cannes for the film "The Screaming Man."
"Autumn in France" is not only a decisive and important voice in the burning topic of refugees, but also a reflection on the clash of the feeling of two people with the requirements of bureaucracy.
The protagonist of the film is Abbas Mahadjir, a high school teacher in the Central African Republic who, together with his two children, leaves his war-torn country and moves to France. On the spot, Abbas files an application for political asylum, and then finds a job in a food market. In the meantime, he meets a French woman, Carole Blaszak, who falls in love with him and offers a roof to him and his family.
What is the fate of Carole and Abbas? Will the escape from the hell of soulless war to the hell of soulless regulations and offices end wandering?
The starring actors are outstanding French actors: Eriq Ebouaney, also valued in Hollywood ("The Kingdom of Heaven", "Hitman", "72 hours"), and Sandrine Bonnaire, two-time Caesar winner, winner of awards at festivals in Cannes and Venice.
